The point i was making was the pension office told me what i had, if i had applied on line the circumstances may have been differant, it was what they knew.

Ah yes, I see now what you are getting at davenic2, it's the fact that they KNEW you had lived/had property/money in Turkey that was bugging you. Sorry I misunderstood and thought you were having problems claiming your state pension.

They would presumably know if you had declared yourself a UK non-resident and having the state pension paid gross into a Turkish bank account

All the years we lived in Turkey we allways had an address and bank account in U.K,nothing was ever paid into our Turkish account from the here. Just like to add 3days after my 65th birthday i recieved a letter telling me the amount,the next day another 2 arrived,then 3 letters from the inland revenue with new tax codes, all differant!  nothing changes.
