5 Year Building guarantee is there such a thing??

Could somebody clarify that it is law that if you buy off plan a new Have had conflicting  information and wondered is there a website etc that states the facts regarding this?

I think I'm right in saying that, the terms agreed between the buyer & seller, constitute a contractual agreement, and If not stated in the contract, does not form part of it.

A Building guarantee is only be as reliable, as the builder/agent.  Trying to enforce a contractual term, can be worse than not having it, in the first place

I agree with cef.
Whatever you have in writing can only be enforced if you are able (and willing) to enforce it - through the Turkish courts if neccessary.
If you are not, then you may as well assume that you have no guarentee.

Well i think thats a lesson learnt the hard way for us? We were promised a 5 year guarantee but it isnt forthcoming.

Did you buy through an agency Skipking, if yes, have they said or done anything to help you?

We are waiting to see if our Agent/builderfulfill their 5 year guarantee, we have problems with the pool, unfinished underground storage area and lighting. Unless these problems are solved we will  name and shame them, why should more people suffer at their hands.[!]

If I ever get my Tapu, I will name and shame my builder - I think he's a rogue and i wouldn't trust him to build a dog's kennel! And re a contract, don't make me laugh! I've had it up to here, I wouldn't recommend anybody to buy a place in Turkey after the experience that I've had. Steve.

I would say we are slowly finding things out and things that were promised in the beginning dont seem to be fulfilled now but at the moment i dont want to name and shame till we have sorted out a few things but i will at some point.
Its just one of those things and i havent let it put us off we love Turkey and the Calis area. Its just over the last 2 years you slowly start to find out things that dont quite ring true with what we were told when we first bought. If that makes sense
