7 Nights Dining Out in Calis (2009)
« on: May 16, 2009, 19:35:15 PM »
I thought this was a great topic a while back and very useful to Calis newbies. If I was in Calis for a week my 7 restaurants would (probably) be as below. It would be interesting to get a list of opinions on 7 great nights for 2009, I know mine will have changed since last time...

1. Ocakbasi (Fethiye)

2. Mangal (Calis)

3. Casa Di Mama (Calis) - Only because sunnyd reckons it's good :D

4. Receps @ Fish Market (Fethiye)

5. Kale Park (Fethiye) but not buffet night  ;)

6. Bella Mammas (Calis)

7. Ocakbasi (Fethiye) again, I'd have to go twice

And yours..? :D

Mrs H remembers a very good restaurant on the Gunlukbasi (her spelling) road which she thoroughly enjoyed. Windows all round with tables outside (that should narrow it down).

Anyone any idea of the name from that abysmal description.

PS I wasn't invited:(

Hi Highlander nice to see you back on the forum. Did this restaurant in Gunlukbasi by any chance have toilets going down to what seemed like a subway you would find in the UK?

Badger, Karennina.

Both correct which is very impressive from the description :).

Karennina, how Mrs H got down stairs to the toilet in her condition is a complete mystery: :)

yes those steps are hard to negogiate, it was a nice restaurant although they did not display any prices, we had a couple of pides, and we felt we were charged a little too much for cheese pides! So we asked for a doggy bag!

Scunner - your list is very useful and contains 2 or 3 of our favourites. The fish market is a particular favourite of Mrs. H's.

However, I have often read on here about excellent restaurants which are "off-the-beaten-track". Having lived in Calis do you, or other residents, have any particular favourites which fall into that category.

Not to far off mind you, for obvious reasons ;)
