Akdeniz Turkish Supermarket - Leith

I visited yesterday after getting the details from a couple of ladies on Facebook. Wow, what a wee treat   It's quite large (not UK supermarket size by any means but not a tiny shop either) and it's like stepping into Turkey once you are in - a larger Mete Market perhaps  

Excellent range including fresh - e.g. baklava, bread/veg & peppers, TR drinks, snacks, beans, biscuits, nuts, well - you name it really. I spent a restrained £8 on the following (from memory):

Visne/cherry juice
Nar/Pomegranate juice
Sesame breadsticks
Cheese Krax type jobbies
Cin orange biscuits (happy face ones   )
Those strawberry creams biscuits
For a special treat/trip down memory lane for the kids, a bottle of famous Yedigun

...and a bottle of Ulker mayonnaise - it is my belief that Turkey makes the best mayonnaise in the World

Been in this place twice and just bought biscuits and juice both times, and  my hubby has been in once and he got some spice mix for chicken, prices are fairly decent also.

On a side note, my hubby uses a café some days on Gorgie Rd , Edinburgh . called Two Brothers café run by Turkish Brothers funnily enough  and one day he went in he met a staff member who we know and first met from holidaying in Icmeler 8/9yrs past and the guy still remembered his name lol, the guy still works in Icmeler during the summer then the café on Gorgie Rd during the winter.  It is a small world indeed    .

I am starting to feel quite sorry for you lot up North, obviously I have taken our shop for granted for many years.  aisle upon aisle on all the favourites.  KKOB if ever near to Southampton Portswood,
