Mangal closed down
« on: October 01, 2015, 21:39:55 PM »
We were really looking forward to another meal at the Mangal tonight after a good one earlier in the week... It has closed down and we have been told never to re open... Another landlord problem... wait for more to follow suit on the seafront..

OMG, although not one we went to after a previous bad experience, I am sorry to see this happening to Mangal. It's always busy and a very prominent restaurant on the main street.  :(

Might be a great place for Volkan and Jo to start up again, certainly has the space, but then again they may have already have other ideas in place.

Met Volkan this week and he said he would be back in Calis on Thursday (yesterday) as he had finished in Icmeler and he an Jo hoped to look around for a new place.   So, fingers crossed for them both.

What a shame one of the first places we ever went to and has been a bit of an institution for the late night kebab when stumbling home

What a shame - one of our favourites with decent food and lovely staff.  The Ice Cream man was hilarious to watch.  Hope they manage to re-open somewhere close.

The landlords here are a nightmare.. As Volkan fell foul of one last year he would have to be careful taking on this place.. A great shame.. It has been there as long as I remember...

Oh so we can expect some posts from him then, telling us all he is going to do for us, what a man of virtue, whilst forgetting that he never thanked us the last time!! >:( >:(

Nope across the road to Frank Canons for me, better kebabs, better price and they have never tried to tuck me up like Mangal did!!
