Title: Be alert.
Post by: mary62 on July 27, 2018, 18:39:04 PM
Please be extra careful in the hot weather.
I fell asleep on the settee, and my living room window was open. Thieves stole both mine and my daughter's handbags (using a broom handle). Both of our car keys were in our bags (purses, credit cards etc). They used my daughter's car to get away. The police found our handbags,(minus the purses, cash, and cards). The thieves had already used our cards (contactless), However when I told them where they had used the cards they went to investigate and found her car. All the locks on both cars and the house keys have had to be changed. My car won't be ready until early August, because they are waiting for a barrell lock from the manufacturer.
I'm not telling you any of this for sympathy, just as a cautionary tale.

Mary, that's awful! Hope you and your daughter are both ok after this. Physically you may have been ok but it must have been a big shock when you realised what had happened.
Thank you for posting, and the warning,  x

Thank you Marina, we are both ok, just shocked that we could be robbed and I didn't hear a thing.
After the bad things that have happened to us this year, I can't wait to see it out!

Thank You all for your good wishes.
I am a great believer in Karma., and I have faith that these people will get what they deserve...God may not be swift, But He is sure.
I really just hope 'Our Calis Family' heed the warning.

Really sorry you had to experience this, Mary.

I've heard of several incidents from the UK this summer. People dozing or just sitting in their back gardens enjoying the weather and not realising their house was being ransacked because they'd left the back door unlocked or a window open.

A friend had 20+ friends round his house for a BBQ last week and left the back door open so that people could use the loo. His brother went in the house only to be knocked down by 2 guys rushing out with a haul of phones, purses etc.

Take care everyone.
