Fuerteventura, Costa Caleta self catering or all inclusive????
« on: January 30, 2015, 14:14:51 PM »
We are thinking of going to Fuerteventura, Costa Caleta in March and have never been to the Islands before, we only really go all inclusive if we need to and would never consider it in turkey, Although sometimes its easier if unfamiliar with the area, as in this case.
After a recommendation from anyone thats been to that part of the world, does it need to be all inclusive? or if self catering are there plenty of places to eat out? Thanks in advance for any advise

We went there and were glad we didn't go all inclusive. Lots of really good value restaurants and bars in the resort when we went in 2006. Better than the local drinks in plastic cups and the slop they called food our friends had all inclusive!

We have been three times to La Caleta, and we loved it, but do not go all-inclusive, there are loads of places to eat and drink, and though not as cheap as Turkey, the rate of the Euro is so good at the moment you will find food and drink to be very reasonable.  Lots of the bars have entertainment at night, and though it is by no means  an 18-30 type of resort, it can be quite lively.  We rented an apartment through holiday lettings right in the centre of the resort with a pool shared between 6 apartments, that we had to ourselves.  There are some lovely flat walks, and a local bus running to the shopping centre a few miles away.  The local market is worth a visit, and the highlight of our holiday was feeding the hundreds of chipmunks that live at the end of the resort on the rocks.  I can thoroughly recommend the whole area, and the bonus is its only 15 mins from the airport, so a nice quick and cheap transfer.
