Title: A getaway to the village life near Fethiye

Interesting article in the Hurriyet about a lesser known eating venue and museum just outside of Kargi.

Went there last year really interesting and his breakfasts are fantastic.

Sounds good

Is it far from Fethiye? Would you need a car or is there a dolmus?

This fantastic museum and restaurant is easy enough to reach, take a dolmus to Ciftlik or Kargi, if you get the dolmus that goes through the villages (others go along the main road only) just tell the driver you want to go to Yoruk Museum, if you head towards the foothills of the mountains and pick up the canal road heading towards Dalaman you will not miss it,  Enver offers a taxi service to his customers, but we always prefer to walk home as the breakfasts are so big.
The museum is very interesting and if Enver is quiet he loves to take his guests around himself, chickens, donkeys and other wildlife are roaming.  The pool is refilled often with fresh mountain water, no need for chemicals.
Would recommend this place to anyone for a real treat, we have yet to be charged for the girls to eat here.

We were there last year, highly recommend it. Dont eat anything before you go otherwise you wont manage it all. Will be going back this year for sure.

We were exploring the area last year and came across this lovely little place, had a look round the museum very interesting. before setting back we had a drink and a piece of cake "NO CHARGE" but even so we left a nice tip.

Well recommended

Go straight through Kargi village (from Fethiye direction), when you come to the end of the village (where the 'Kargi' sign has the cross through it) get off the Dolmus and there is a signpost to the Museum which takes a lane to the right. It's quite a walk up there , probably 20 mins, but well worth it as the lane itself takes you past local farms etc... very interesting, we go every year !

it's a great place to stop off for lunch, we did it recently on one of the Kismet walks, a genuine host who handed out fruit to all of us as we left, after we had a good lunch.

Just up the road from my place they also make and sell lots of home made marmalades and jams etc, nice friendly family and if you wish you can stay over for a night or two as they do have accomodation, plus there is a swiming pool up on the terrace that you can use.As others have said the breakfast for one is enough for a family of five, the different dishes are unbeleavable, great views as well as you are high up above sea level.
