It is a remarkable achievement - to beat the Syco/Sony/Cowell machine and conveyor belt is difficult to say the least. Great to see.

The Geordie lad (James Arthur) who won X-Factor went up in my estimation this week when his single went platinum, he tweeted "thanks to everyone who bought the single.... Now make sure the Hillsborough single is Christmas #1.. ".    Nice touch.
