Please can anyone explain how the fsbo works.
Are there any pluses or minuses to buying a property this way?
Thanks Bernie

FSBO works as there is no estate agent involved so no fee's., Estate agents fees are usually 3 per cent to the buyer and the same to the seller. As the seller wont be paying an agent then this could be taken into account when negotiating the price. A solicitor would deal with the transaction for you.

So how does it work for surveys n stuff, and tapus? Ironic that you should reply, we have not long come back from a walk where you were the topic of conversation =)

You get a solicitor, many good recommendations can be found on this site

Yes, ask the seller which solicitor they recommend, then find someone else.

Do you think I would be better off dealing with interturk or fsbo.?
By better off I mean safer, less to go wrong, having someone else do the paperwork etc?

Interturk. No contest. It might cost you more short term but at least you won't have to worry long term.

You can still advertise it on FSBO and if you get a buyer speak to Cenk and ask him to deal with the sale. We advertised on FSBO and had a fair bit of interest.

Thankyou, I am glad you can still ask interturk, think we will feel safer that way.
