I guess you need to learn it's other attributes then  :)

Best piece of kit I ever bought. Only thing missing from Apple is Flash.

Agreed.  I find it bizarre that they don't have Flash.  Stopped me buying one for quite a long time but I succumbed in the end.

I love my iPad  :-* - so versatile.
Great for hols and travel and now I can even use it for work when I'm out and about auditing as I downloaded an app that lets me use basic Office / excel spreadsheets on it - saves so much printing, re-typing etc.

Forgive my thickness. Is it possible to 'right click' on an iPad?

I want to copy and send links and can't figure out how to do it.

Post by: Scunner on September 17, 2013, 23:46:59 PM
Press and hold on the text/link you want to send and a small menu should appear - choose copy.

In the place you want to paste, press and hold & a lens like circle appears. Let go and options including paste appear, choose that  :)

I expect you know how to copy the screen into your photos? I use it loads to copy whatever and whenever.

Press the off button and the navigation button together and you should see it take the picture of your screen.

I've even done this when face timing to get pics of people far away  :)

Wow Stoop, didn't know that! I've now got a photo of your post in my pictures. I honestly don't know what I'd do without my iPad now, I never use my laptop anymore. Tips like this and the one from Bluwise are so good to know, thanks!  ;) :D

Downside as Stoop knows..  It was my son and daughter in law's first anniversary on 15th September.  I used my ipad to order champagne and a card from Moonpig.  This was on the 5th September.  I ordered the delivery for the 13th September. I was using my Ipad in Calis.   I had a problem and Moonpig would not accept my credit card abroad, so I put in a "new card"  and used my bank debit card.  The order was accepted and I had confirmation.
The delivered never arrived.  Moonpig cancelled my order and wrote to me on the 12th September,  because they could not see the details for the inscription to be put on the champagne bottle, this, they said was because I was using an ipad or other device other than a computer/laptop..  I wrote to them asking why, if they accepted my order why the order was  cancelled  after having it for a week.  I further asked why if they had the details for the card why they could not put that on the Champagne.  They said they would not presume to do that, they have offered me £10.00 compensation.  However, go to their Facebook page there are loads of complaints which they do not answer.   So never order items on your ipad as it has no flash and you could be disappointed.i

Nichola, the off button is on the top of the ipad and the navigation button is the round one at the bottom, press them both together to get a screen shot.
Another good feature is being able to get a Turkish keyboard or any other language and swap over really easily.

Jacqui, I've just used my iPad here in Fethiye to order a birthday card - only seconds before reading your post. Ive done it lots before (as were always here at the same times) it always has worked, but I always put a fixed amount in the Moonpig account in UK. It just takes cost from that, it's easier too because I don't have to enter bank details, just do the card. When it runs out I top it up. It seems to last for ages. Sorry we missed you this time.  :)

Post by: Jacqui Harvey on September 18, 2013, 10:15:29 AM
We also have a fixed amount in our Account, however, we had to top up because of the price of the Champagne, they got the card details and debited my account  The problem occured when we put details in for a personalised label on the champagne, of which they said they only had the first line, because I had used an ipad that does not have flash... I am baffled if they got the Anniversary card details why no label details?  So in there wisdom they cancelled the whole order.
Sorry we missed you too, catch you next time..

I not saying for definite it was the lack of flash that caused it Jacqui just that it might have been the possible cause.

Some dispute with adobe I wish they would sort out!

Menthol - click the little round button at the bottom at the same time as the small flat one on the top right of the iPad. It will then take a picture of whatever is on your screen.

Works with iPhone too  :)

Ha! Your very kind instructions meant nothing again to me, Stoop until I realised that I always have the iPad in landscape, so to speak. So when I turned it round, by Jove, I got it!

I think I need a crash course in iPad-ese. Also, if you have forgotten your password, how do you change it/get a reminder?

And sorry Tel, you are quite right, this is no longer a thread about the lovely Koca Calis!

Menthol, I think you have to connect your ipad to a computer that it's sync'd with - is it disabled/locked out?  If you have no access at all I can look on t'interweb for you and see if I can find anything - unless some wonderful techy person on here knows the answer.

I can use it - I'm doing so right now, but it's actually TAs iPad and he has forgotten the password. Means we can't download stuff/get apps etc.

I'm going to get son No.1 to give me some coaching seeing as he is never off his.

Thank you Bluwise for offering to help. Aw, isn't it lovely on here? *awaits bucket load of sarcasm*

The problem for me with Koca Calis is (apart from the obvious) that the bars and restaurants can't keep the same name for more than 3 months

Discuss? :D

If you walked to the beach and turned right (Fethiye being left) and walked to the far end, that is Koca Calis  :)

Suzzpuss, yes a real camera - as opposed to a dumbphone.

But not a particularly fancy camera - just a pocket sized Sony.

Sitting here right now, in the Surf Cafe Beach Club, Koca Calis,  enjoying the sea breeze and watching the kite surfers glide by on the waves. Heavenly! Two nights ago we had a fab fish meal, sea bass, here in the Surf Cafe restaurant, beautifully cooked and filleted at our table.

Last night, our wedding anniversary, we had an even better meal at the Koca Calis beach bar, last year known as Paradise Beach Bar, the previous year The Sands. Thursday night was BBQ night with a big selection of buffet style mezes, BBQed chicken and meatballs - all delicious. These two are my favourite beach bars in this string along the Koca Calis beach strip, as they each have a distinctive atmosphere (Koca Calis BB has gardens leading to the sand with tables etc laid out under canopies, and all give you the feeling of being in your own personal beach area - food can be brought to you right at the water's edge, and sun loungers are free.

Give me these beach bars every time in preference to Calis Beach. Anyway, the Dolmus's go every 5 minutes from here to Calis Beach, and in an hour or so, we might get one and eat out in CB for a bit of a change and buy a few things.

Love it all!

Thanks, Echogirl! Right now we're sitting in the corner restaurant in the centre of C beach front. There was a live chamber group and singer at 6.30 with chairs laid out. Gorgeous sunset, too.
