I just used to hand mine over to Rukiye at the Oztoklu Restaurant and she decided whether to reply 'Evet' or 'Hayir' for me.  ;)

Is that not cheating in terms of learning Turkish?? ;D ;D

Mind you it's what I do with my Turkish friends.  Never yet replied yes to anything.. 2235, Citroen, Fiat, Turkcell, TTNET, Turktelecom, Uncle Tom Cobbly and All.

I could just about decipher the messages but I left it up to her to decide whether or not it was a good deal.

If you have an Iphone download a free app Google translate , It has a huge A on the Icon, or any  phone that has apps actually.
Once you have the App and you get a message you can't understand just press on it and the copy sign comes up press that , then fire up your App and once it opened press the entry area and the paste sign pops up , tap on that and your message will appear before your eyes, then all you have to do is push the blue ok button waalaa it translates the whole thing .

Brilliant.
Its only downfall it needs wifi or internet but if it only messages they can wait till you find wifi.

So simple even i can do it.

Not only that you can change the languages , fantastic.

Hope this helps.
Alan.

If you have a smart phone you can install google translate and copy and paste the text into translate,
9 times out of 10 the translation makes no sense at all though!

Buy a decent phone that has Translate with Bing installed, At this time of year it will not only translate to your required language, you will probably get someone singing White Christmas for you. ;D
