Title: Fethiyespor 2017/2018
Post by: yabanci on June 16, 2017, 09:34:08 AM
With a new season comes a new Technical Director. Yesterday Fethiye appointed 53 year old Eser Kardesler to take charge of the team for the new season, replacing Fatih Kavlak who was in charge for the last 6 games of last season and just about managed to keep Fethiyespor in Lig 2.
Eser had been in charge of Nigde Belediyespor since March 2016 and saw them win promotion to Lig 2 via the play-offs,and then have a good first season in Lig 2 finishing 9th with 46 points.Fethiye only managed to finish 15th with 38 points last season.
Good Luck to him for the new season, he will probably need it as the club seems to get through 3 mangers a season nowadays.  ;)

The draw was made this week for the two Lig 2 groups for the forthcoming season and Fethiyespor received a pre-season boost by being drawn in what looks to be the easier group.Although Fethiye will be up against 2 of the 3 relegated teams from Lig 1 in Bandirmaspor and Sanliurfa they will only have to face 1 of the 7 sides involved in last seasons Lig 2 play-offs.
New manager Eser Kardesler comes up against his former team Nigde Belediye, but there will be no Mugla Derby as newly promoted Bodrumspor have been drawn in the other group. :(

Last season's centre forward Emir Gocke (3 goals in 29 games) has been moved on.If his replacement  Onur Garip (12 goals in 27 matches for Kocaeli ) does not start scoring, sign this young man up. :D

Anyone interested in watching Fethiyespor Football Team?

Season Tickets are now on sale at the ground 120tl or 250tl depending which stand. On the day tickets last season where 5 or 15 lira but Fethiyespor do not benefit from these sales - season ticket money stays at the club whereas on the day ticket money goes to the football federation; so if you are thinking of attending why not buy a season ticket and help the club who have signed many new players recently.
Remember it won't be like watching football in the UK - you'll be sat in the sunshine!

First home game is Sunday 27th August

At the last count it was 17 new players brought in for the new season with 16 players shown the door by the club.In fact only 2 players from last seasons under performing first team squad survive, defender Hakki Can Aksu and midfielder Oguzhan Yildirim.

Fethiyespor rounded  off their pre-season preparations  with a 2-1 win over Lig 3 side Duzcespor yesterday. That made it a mixed bag of results from 6 friendly matches with 2 wins,2 draws and 2 defeats. Not surprising  really as the club have signed 21 new players in the summer.
All eyes now turn to Saturday evening with the first home match of the season against Hacettepe. Fethiye do not have a very good recent record against the team from Ankara having not beaten them in their last 6 meetings and the last 3 games at Fethiye have all been drawn. Can the new look Fethiyespor get the new season off to a perfect start?? KO is at 20.00.

Fethiyespor  got the new season off to a good start with a hard earned 1-0 win over Hacettepe. The visitors from Ankara were the much better team in the 1st half as the home team struggled  to put more than 2 passes together. However as the 2nd half wore on Fethiye grew into the game and took the lead after 76 mins when 21 year old midfielder  Emrullah Yildirim fired in from close range.
On 84 mins Yildirim saw red for a 2nd bookable offence and before the opposition  could  take  their free kick,Fethiye were reduced to 9 men when defender Burak Keskin got a straight red card following a melee in the home penalty area.Fethiye managed to see out the last few minutes to earn the 3 points.
No games next weekend due to Kurban Bayram, but the following weekend Fethiye are away in Istanbul to play Pendikspor who lost 3-1 today.

Well that didnt last long. After just one league game in charge of the club, Technical Director Eser Kardesler handed in his resignation this afternoon which has been accepted by the Board of Directors. A tough away game in Istanbul on Sunday for managerless Fethiye against Pendik who did the double over Fethiye last season beating them 2-0 twice.

The draw for the 3rd round of the Ziraat Cup was made this afternoon and Fethiyespor were handed a home tie against fellow Lig 2 side, and near neighbours (for Turkey) Nazilli Belediyespor. The tie will probably be played on Sept.20th.Last season in the league both games ended in a draw. The tie sees Fethiye come up against former club captain Mert Er Estik who left in the summer to join Nazilli.

Fethiyespor wasted no time in appointing a new Technical Director as they unveiled 53 year old Feyyaz Ucar as their new coach. Ucar, a former Turkish international played for Besiktas,Fenerbache and Antalyaspor and was most recently manager of former Lig 1 side Bandirmaspor until February this year. He has been handed a 1 year contract and will be in charge for Fethiye's next home game against Gumushanespor.

Fethiyespor managed  to grind out a 0-0 draw with Pendikspor this afternoon. This moves Fethiye up to 5th in the league, although  there are a couple  of games to come  this evening.
Fethiye have a tough looking home fixture next Saturday  evening  against  Gumushane from N.E. Turkey. The visitors have made the Lig 2 play-offs for the last 2 seasons, and lost in the final last year after finishing 2nd in their league. They are currently  one of only 3 teams with a 100% record in the league. KO is at 19.00.

Fethiyespor lost for the first time this season as they were defeated 2-0 at home by Gumushanespor this evening. For the first 20 mins Fethiye were by far the better team and Omer Karanci on the right wing had several half chances on goal. However it was the visitors who took the lead half way through the first half with Yilmazer netting from close range.Fethiye had further chances, hitting the post from long range,Onur Garip shooting over the bar,and just before half time, shooting just wide.
In the 48th min a free kick swung into the Fethiye box saw the visitors and Yilmazer score their second goal. With 20 mins to go Gumushane were reduced to 10 men but Fethiye could find no way through the visitors defence.
That defeat sees Fethiye drop to 11th in the league, one place behind Nazilli who are Fethiye's next opponents on Wednesday evening in the 3rd round of the Ziraat Cup.In their last 4 home games against Nazilli, Fethiye have won 2 and drawn 2.KO is at 20.30.

Fethiyespor progressed  to the next round of the Ziraat Cup with a comfortable  2-0 win over Nazilli this evening. The 1st half lacked the slick attacking moves that Fethiye showed in Saturday's  match and 0-0 at half time was a fair reflection  of the game.
The game was won for the home side with 2 second half headers from set pieces. After 52 mins centre half Cemil Adican headed in from a corner and 20 mins later forward Berat Tosun headed in from a free kick.
A Super Lig side at home in the 4th round draw would be nice.  :)
Fethiye return  to league action at the weekend  with an away trip up to The Black Sea to face Zonguldak where they drew 1-1 last season.

New boss Husnu Ozkara is still waiting for his win ,as Fethiyespor lost 2-1 away to Zonguldak yesterday. All the goals came in the 1st half with the home side opening the scoring with a header from forward Okan Eken after 35 mins.Fethiye equalised 2 mins before half time with an acrobatic  over head kick from on loan striker Berat Tosun. However Eken grabbed  his 2nd goal for the hosts deep into 1st half injury time to claim the win.
That defeat sees Fethiye move down to 11th in the table.Another mid-week evening home game for Fethiye on Wednesday when they host 2nd from bottom Kahramanmaras. Fethiye do not have a particularly good recent home record against  the visitors having not beaten them in their last 4 encounters.Last season  the game finished 1-1. KO is at 19.00.
Title: Re: Fethiyespor 2017/2018
Post by: yabanci on September 27, 2017, 20:11:49 PM
Fethiyespor could only manage a 1-1 draw against lowly Kahramanmaras at home this evening.Fethiye were not at their best in the 1st half and fell behind after only 8 mins. The best chance Fethiye managed was a free kick from the right which was scrambled past the post by the keeper.
Fethiye upped the tempo in the 2nd half and after 5 mins Onur Garip chipped the keeper to score his 1st goal for the club. However Fethiye could not find a winner and the point sees Fethiye move down to 13th in the league with 5 points.
A long away trip to S.E Turkey to face Sanliurfaspor on Sunday is up next for Fethiye. The hosts are 2nd in the league and are unbeaten this season. However when Fethiye last played there in 2014 they did manage a 1-0 victory.

The 4th round draw of the Ziraat Cup was made this afternoon.Fethiyespor missed a home round tie against one of the 12 Super Lig teams in the draw, but still managed a home tie against Lig 1 Adanaspor, who were relegated from the Super Lig last season after finishing bottom. They are currently 9th in Lig 1 at present. The tie is likely to be played on Wednesday Oct 25th.

Fethiyespor suffered  their heaviest  defeat of the season losing  3-0 at Sanliurfaspor this evening. The hosts were 2-0up at half time with goals in the 20th and 32nd mins. Former Fethiyespor  striker Artun Akcakin added  a 3rd goal 2 mins from time.
Fethiye face Nazilli at home next Sunday evening who they beat in the last round of the Ziraat Cup. K.O is at 19.00.
Title: Re: Fethiyespor 2017/2018
Post by: yabanci on October 08, 2017, 20:18:34 PM
Fethiyespor  could only manage a 1-1 draw with Nazilli this evening.  A rather poor 1st half came to life after 30 mins when Yigit Gokoglan scored for the home side. However on 61 mins the visitors grabbed an equaliser and thats how it ended. That point keeps Fethiye in 13th place on 6 points.
An away match in Izmir next weekend when Fethiye face 4th placed Altay who were promoted from Lig 3 last season via the play-offs.The teams have only met once before, in 2012 in a Ziraat Cup match, when Fethiye lost 1-0.
Title: Re: Fethiyespor 2017/2018
Post by: yabanci on October 24, 2017, 10:05:27 AM
Fethiyespor managed contrasting results in the last fortnight. Away in Izmir 2 weeks ago they played high flying Altay, and it was Fethiye who took the lead with Onur Garip scoring after 12 mins. It looked as if Fethiye might record their 1st away win of the season but a 74th min penalty and a 94th min goal for the home side put paid to that.
Last Saturday evening Fethiye were at home to mid table Karagumruk and found themselves 1-0 down in the 1st minute. However, despite losing 3 players to injury, goals from Yildirimli and a 66th min penalty from Umut Sozen saw Fethiye to their 2nd win of the season, and move them up to 13th in the league with 9 points.
This evening sees Fethiye host Lig 1 side Adanaspor in the 4th round of the Ziraat Cup. KO is at 19.00.

Fethiyespor put up a good show despite going out of the Ziraat Cup with a 2-1 defeat at home to Adanaspor this evening.Fethiye had 7 players out with injury, and could only name 5 subs instead of 7, but they still managed to have the better of the 1st half. 2 mins before the break Yigit Gokoglan put Fethiye ahead, just 2 mins after coming on for the injured Yildirimli.
Adana upped their game in the 2nd half and 2 goals, on 69 and 73 mins was enough to see the Lig 1 side through to the next round.
Back to league action on Sunday with an away game at Konya for Fethiye.Konya are just 1 place above Fethiye in the league table and it is somewhat of a lucky ground for Fethiye who have won there on their last 3 visits.

Fethiyespor came away with a point from their match in Konya, in a classic game of two halves.A brace from on loan striker Berat Tosun and a superb strike from just outside the penalty area by Yigit Gokoglan put Fethiye 3-0 up at the break. In the 46th min Fethiye defender Omer Karanci received a straight red card to reduce the visitors to 10 men. Then 3 goals in 8 mins saw the home side level the scores up.In the 84th min Fethiyespor mid-fielder Ertugrul Arslan received a 2nd yellow card for a ridiculous dive in the penalty area to reduce Fethiye to 9 men. However they managed to see out the remaining time to earn a draw which keeps them in 13th place, now with 10 points.
Another away game for Fethiye next weekend when they travel to 6th placed Nigde Belediyespor who are on a good run of form at the moment, unbeaten in their last 8 league games.

Fethiyespor's mini unbeaten run of 2 matches came to an end this afternoon as they lost 2-0 away at Nigde Belediyespor. Fethiye were missing 6 players through injury and a further 2 were suspended. The hosts took the lead just before half time, and added a second  through former Fethiye player Seckin Getbay after 73 mins. That defeat sees Fethiye now down to 14th in the league.
Fethiye are at home next Sunday when they take on high flying Kirklarelispor who are currently 4th in the league. The Fethiye defence will have to keep an eye on the opposition striker, Sinan Kurumus who is the joint top scorer in Lig 2 with 8 goals this season.

After just 11 games in charge, technical director Husnu Ozkara and Fethiyespor have parted ways by " mutual consent". His record over those 11 games was 2 wins, 3 draws and 6 defeats. So the club is now looking for manager number 3 with the season not even at the half way point yet. :(

Fethiyespor made it 4 games (in all competitions) without a win as they lost 2-1 at home to high flying Kirklarelispor this afternoon. Fethiye started well with Metin Sevinc shooting just wide after 2 mins,Berat Tosun sending a header over the bar after 4 mins, and Yigit Gokoglan firing straight at the keeper on 10 mins.
Fethiye were made to pay for missing those chances as the visitors took the lead on 22 mins with their first real shot on goal. Just before half time Umut Sozen equalised for Fethiye with his 2nd goal of the season. However the visitors regained the lead just before the hour mark when Fethiye keeper Eser Altin parried a fierce shot straight into the feet of Cici who scored from 6 yards.Fethiye never really looked like coming back on level terms again and the match finished 2-1.
Fethiye remain 14th in the league just 3 points above the bottom 3.They have a tough away game next weekend at 6th placed Sakaryaspor who are unbeaten at home this season and boast the league's meanest defence, with just 9 goals conceded.

Still no news on a new Technical Director for the club, but Fethiyespor have been accused of trying to poach 55 year old Levent Eris from Gumushanespor, who was in charge when they beat Fethiye 2-0 earlier in the season. Yesterday the club issued a statement saying " they are not able to negotiate with any T.D. who has a contract but we have the right to negotiate with any T.D. who resigns or does not have any club."
Coincidentally Levent Eris resigned on Monday after Gumushanespor had won 2-0 at home on Sunday which took them to the top of the Lig 2 table.

Manager-less Fethiyespor made it 3 defeats in 3 games when they lost 3-1 away to Sakaryaspor this afternoon. The hosts took the lead after only 4 mins but Fethiye equalised 3 mins later when Metin Sevinc scored his first goal for the club. Parity only lasted 8 mins before Beykan Simsek put the home side back in front. Thats the way the score stayed until 5 mins from the end when Sakarya added a third to keep them in the hunt for a play-off place. Fethiye remain 14th in the league as all 4 teams below them lost this weekend.
A must win home game next weekend when they face 2nd from bottom side Silivrispor who have only won 1 match and drawn 3 all season.

Fethiyespor unveiled their 3rd Technical Director of the season (so far    ;) ) this afternoon. As expected former Gumushanespor boss Levent Eris signed a 1.5 year contract with the club. The 55 year old from Izmir was a former midfielder and played for Turkey's U-18 and U-21 sides. In his managerial career this is his 17th club in 18 years as a coach. However he is one of a select number of managers to have won promotion to the Super Lig with 2 different clubs. In addition he has guided Gumushane to the top of Lig 2 this season, and they are currently 17 points above Fethiyespor.
Good luck to him and 3 points on Sunday would do nicely please.

Two individual pieces of brilliance from Umut Sozen brightened up a drab game this afternoon as Fethiyespor recorded their first win in 5 league games. A very poor Silivrispor side were reduced to 10 men after 39 mins when Ates was shown a 2nd yellow card. A couple of mins later Sozen got his 3rd goal of the season when his shot from just outside the box was perfectly placed over the keeper and into the top right of the net.His 2nd goal after 66 mins was even better, 30 yards out, again to the keepers right. A third goal came on 81 mins when 17 year old Mugla born Anil Aricioglu scored his first goal for the club.
A good start for new boss Levent Eris. Fethiye remain 14th in the league but now have a 4 point cushion over the bottom 4 teams. An away game next weekend at 5th placed Bandirmaspor. Fethiye do not have a very good record at this ground, having lost on all of their last 5 visits there.

Fethiyespor managed to pick up their 3rd away point of the season with a creditable 0-0 draw, away at 5th placed Bandirmaspor this afternoon. That point keeps Fethiye in 14th place in the league but puts the gap between them and the 3rd from bottom team to 5 points.
A home match next Sunday for Fethiye as they face that side who are 3rd from bottom, Karsiyaka from Izmir. The last time the 2 sides met in Fethiye in 2013 the Karsiyaka ran out winners 3-0.Hopefully Fethiye can carry on their recent improvement under new coach Levent Eris.

Fethiyespor could only manage a 0-0 draw at home to Karsiyaka this afternoon in their last home game before the winter break. It was a game of few chances, the best for Fethiye being an Umut Sozen free kick in the first half which was just wide of the visitors goal. The visitors from Izmir who were being cheered on by 300 or so supporters hit the crossbar early in the second half but that was it for clear cut chances.
Fethiye move up to 13th in the league on 15 points, still 5 points above the relegation zone. An away match next weekend in the capital against 6th placed Bugsas who warmed up for that game winning 5-0 away from home today. However Fethiye have a good record there, not having lost on their last 4 visits. Their last visit in Mar 2016 ended up with a 1-0 victory.

Fethiyespor had an afternoon to forget in Ankara as they lost 3-0 to Bugsas ,which was the teams first defeat under new boss Levent Eris. The hosts went ahead in the 2nd minute of first half injury time when centre forward Emre Torun scored.Fethiye held out until 18 mins from time when Bugsas scored their 2nd goal and then added a 3rd in the 81st minute.
Fethiye move down to 14th in the league, 4 points clear of the relegation zone. No more league action until January 21st when Fethiye are back in the capital to play 7th placed Hacettepe.

Fethiyespor return to league action this Sunday following the mid season break. They are in Ankara to face 7th placed Hacettepe, who they beat 1-0 at home in the first game of the season. However Hacetteppe are 7 places and 13 points above Fethiye in the league table and are unbeaten at home so far this season, and have beaten Fethiyespor on their last 3 visits to their ground. A draw would be a good result for Fethiye.

Fethiyespor started the second half of the season much the same way they finished the first half, with a defeat in the capital. Before the winter break they lost 3-0 at Bugsas and this afternoon they lost 3-1 at Hacettepe.
Fethiye had 4 of their 7 new signings making their debuts, with a further 2 on the subs bench and at half time the score was 0-0.However the hosts won the game with 2 second half goals within 6 minutes of each other. Umut Sozen scored his 5th goal of the season with 6 mins remaining to give Fethiye some hope but Hacettepe added a 3rd goal as the game entered into injury time.
Fethiye remain 14th in the league with 15 points.Next Sunday they host Pendikspor from Istanbul who they drew with 0-0 earlier in the season.
Pendik are currently 2 places and 6 points above Fethiye and they beat Fethiye 2-0 on their last visit a year ago.

Fethiyespor managed to snatch a point from the jaws of defeat with a 2-2 draw against Pendikspor this afternoon. On a lovely sunny afternoon and with 4 of their 9 transfer window signings starting,Fethiye struggled to get going in the first half with the visitors from Istanbul looking the better team. The big turning point in the game occurred in the 35th min when centre half Efe Karaoglu conceded a penalty and received a red card with Pendik's Yaser converting from the penalty spot.
The second half started much the same as the first but after 50 mins Fethiye boss Levent Eris made a bold substitution, taking off midfielder Dada and bringing on forward Berat Tosen. Fethiye looked a different team and on 62 mins Ustun Bilgi scored his 1st goal for the club since his transfer from Bandirmaspor, with a flying header. However only 4 minutes later the visitors were in front again when Yaser got his 2nd goal of the game.
Fethiye looked to be down and out with 16 mins to go when midfielder Umut Sozen was stretchered off with Fethiye having used all 3 subs, but the 9 men of Fethiye were not to be denied and with 11 mins remaining Mustafa Diler scored his 1st goal for the club following his move from Manisa.
Thats the way it stayed and that point keeps Fethiye in 14th place but they are now only 2 points clear of the relegation zone. A very tough away match next weekend when they face league leaders Gumushane who are currently 13 places and 23 points above Fethiye, and won 2-0 at Fethiye earlier in the season. Maybe boss Levent Eris can pull off a surprise result against his former team.

My man of the match, new signing 22 year old Mustafa Diler.

Well for just over an hour it looked like Fethiyespor could pull off a shock result and inflict the league leaders first home defeat of the season. After only 16 mins a long range shot from Metin Sevinc found the back of the net to give Fethiye the lead. Fethiye had 6 of their 14 transfer window signings in the starting 11 with a further 6 on the subs bench and they kept their lead upto the 62nd minute when the hosts drew level. After that Fethiye went to pieces and Gumushane added 3 more goals in the last 18 mins to give them a 4-1 victory.
A bad day at the office for Fethiye who were the only team in the bottom 5 to lose today and they move down to 15th in the league, just 1 point above the bottom 3.
A must win home game for Fethiye next week when they host Black Sea side Zonguldak who are 3 places but 9 points above Fethiye in the league. Zonguldak beat Fethiye at home 2-1 earlier in the season but last season at Fethiye it was the home side who came back from the dead to win 4-3 after being 3-0 down with just 13 mins left.

Fethiyespor began a run of 3 important games in 8 days when they played host to Zonguldak this afternoon. The club reduced admission prices by half for this match and were rewarded with a slightly larger crowd. However the 1st half was dire with neither goalkeeper having to make a save and the game punctuated by numerous fouls from a physical Zonguldak side. With only 1 minute of the 1st half left a quick Fethiye break from new signing Anil Tasdemir, gave the ball to Yigit Gokoglan whose shot found the corner of the net via the base of the post, for his 4th goal of the season.
The second half was better with both teams pressing for a goal. Fethiye produced several half chances but the visitors nearly equalised with a header from a corner 7 mins from time. Fethiye held out for the win, their first in 7 matches.Fethiye back up to 14th in the league and were the only team in the bottom 5 to win today.
Fethiye are away on Wednesday at Kahramanmarasspor who are 15th in the table, only below Fethiye on goals scored. This would be an ideal time for Fethiye to record their first away win of the season. However the last 4 meetings between these sides have all ended in draws.

Fethiyespor picked up a valuable away point with a 2-2 draw away at Kahramanmaras this afternoon. The hosts went ahead in first half stoppage time with top scorer Taskaya getting his 5th goal of the season. Fethiye came back and grabbed an equaliser on 58 mins when new signing Ahmet Dereli got his 1st goal for the club. Metin Sevinc thought he had won the game for Fethiye when he scored in the 83rd minute, but 4 mins later Zorlu made it 2-2 and the points were shared.
Fethiye stay in 14th place in the league with 20 points, now only 3 ahead of Nazilli who are in the final relegation place at the moment. A tough home game on Sunday for Fethiye when they face Sanliurfaspor who are currently 5th in the league, but could be as high as 2nd if they win their match tonight. Sanliurfa won easily earlier in the season beating Fethiye 3-0, and when the teams last played each other at Fethiye, in Sept 2013, they beat Fethiye 3-1.However one glimmer of hope for Fethiye is that Sanliurfa have lost 5 out of their last 6 away matches.

Fethiyespor fell to a 3-1 home defeat against promotion chasing Sanliurfaspor this afternoon. After a fairly even first 25 mins the game was turned on its head a minute later when midfielder Hakan Olkan was rather harshly adjudged to have handled in the penalty area. Sanliurfa scored from the resultant spot kick and Olkan received a red card.
6 minutes into the 2nd half tricky winger Kiroglu put the visitors two ahead. He also added a third after 75 mins before Metin Sevinc scored a consolation goal for Fethiye with 6 mins remaining. That defeat sees Fethiye move down to 15th in the league, just 3 points above Nazilli who occupy the final relegation place. Fethiye travel to met Nazilli next weekend for a relegation 6 pointer. The teams drew 1-1 earlier in the season at Fethiye and drew 0-0 at Nazilli last season. Another good game for Fethiye to record their first away win of the season in.

Fethiyespor had to come from behind to rescue a point this afternoon as they battle to avoid relegation from Lig 2. Playing away at neighbours Nazilli it was the hosts who took the lead on 16 mins with a goal from Serdar Eylik. Fethiye carved out several decent chances and hit the inside of the post from a corner ,early in the second half. Just when it looked like Nazilli were going to hold onto their lead a cross from the left from Yigit Yoney was headed in by Ahmet Dereli, for his 2nd goal for the club. Fethiye had their hearts in their mouths in the 2nd min of injury time when Nazilli had the ball in the net from a header but it was ruled out for offside and the game finished 1-1.
That point keeps Fethiye in 15th place still 3 points above the relegation zone. A tough home game next week against league leaders Altay who have won 5 of their last 6 games, and beat Fethiye 2-1 at home earlier in the season.

Fethiyespor pulled off a great result this afternoon when they held league leaders Altay to a 1-1 draw. Watched by probably the biggest crowd of the season and with a large contingent of away fans coming down from Izmir, Fethiye put in a much improved performance. Playing with only winger Ahmet Dereli up front Fethiye more than matched the opposition in the first half. The best chance of a fairly even 1st half fell to Fethiye when Ensar Baykan was put through in the area but shot straight at the keeper.
In the second minute of the 2nd half Fethiye took the lead. Metin Sevinc lashed his shot against the post but the rebound fell to Anil Tasdemir who scored his first goal for the club since his move from Denizlispor. Altay pushed forward looking for an equalizer but it was Fethiye that had the better chances with Dereli going close twice.
However with 17 mins to go the visitors were handed a rather soft penalty for a trip in the box which was converted by Ozan to make it 1-1. Thats how it finished and Fethiye remain 15th with 22 points.
Fethiye are away in Istanbul next weekend when they take on Karagumruk who are 1 place and 4 points above them. A good match to get that first away win of the season. Fethiye beat Karagumruk earlier in the season 2-1 and beat the team from Istanbul 1-0 away last season.
Title: Re: Fethiyespor 2017/2018

Fethiyespor's relegation worries increased this afternoon as they lost 2-1 in Istanbul. In truth it was a match Fethiye should have won as they had dominated the first half and missed numerous chances. However the curse of the former player struck Fethiye after 57 mins when Emir Gokce scored his 1st goal for Karagumruk having played for Fethiye last season. Fethiye continued to take the game to their hosts and drew level on 73 mins with a goal from Ustun Bilgi. Just as it looked like Fethiye would come away with a point Karagumruk got their second goal in the 89th minute with Kutlu scoring for the hosts.
Fethiye will be sweating on the Nazilli result tomorrow but stay in 15th place on 22 points.A home game for Fethiye next weekend as they play Konya who are 6 places and 14 points above Fethiye. Earlier this season the teams drew 3-3 after Fethiye had been 3-0 up at half time, and last season Konya won at Fethiye 2-0.

Fethiyespor made it 7 games without a win as they fell to a 1-0 home defeat to mid table Konya this afternoon. A poor 1st half in which both teams looked to have settled for a 0-0 draw, came to life after 23 mins when first Anil Tasdemir missed a sitter, then Ustun Bilgi shot straight at the keeper when clean through on goal. 7 mins later Konya took the lead when their top scorer Can Aklay capitalized on a defensive mix up to score his 11th of the season.
Fethiye huffed and puffed in the 2nd half but never really looked like equalizing. This defeat sees Fethiye move into the bottom 3 on goal difference and they must hope that Nazilli also lose tomorrow away at bottom club Silivrispor.
Fethiye are at home again next weekend when they play another mid table side Nigde Belediyespor who earlier in the season defeated Fethiye 2-0.

Fethiyespor managed to record a 3-1 win over Nigde Belediyespor this afternoon their first victory in 7 games , to slightly ease their relegation worries. Fethiye went ahead in the 10th min when Emrullah Yildirim's deflected shot  found the back of the net, his 1st goal since the opening game of the season. Nigde were level within 8 mins when a corner was headed back for an unmarked Tokat to score.
Fethiye made hard work of the rest of the half but right on the  stroke of half time Ustun Bilgi grabbed his 3rd goal of the season to put Fethiye ahead. Fethiye had another slice of luck on 64 mins when a defensive mix up left Bilgi with a simple tap in for his 2nd goal of the game.Thats the way it stayed and Fethiye move out of the relegation zone and have a 2 point cushion over Nazilli who lost 3-0 at home today. Nice to see top scorer Umut Sozen make a sub appearance for the last 5 mins after missing the last 8 games with injury. Also admission for todays game was reduced to 1tl to try and boost crowd numbers.
Fethiye are away next weekend at Kirklarelispor who are 5 places and 13 points above Fethiye. They beat Fethiye 2-1 earlier in the season but Fethiye have won there on their last 2 visits.

Fethiyespor made sure they were not the April Fools today as they picked up their first away win of the season beating Kirklarelispor 2-0 this afternoon. After a goal less first half Fethiye upped the tempo at the start of the second, and were rewarded with a penalty in the 55th min as Ustun Bilgi was brought down in the box. Captain Anil Tasdemir scored from the spot to put the visitors ahead. 5 mins later Anil scored again with a shot from just outside the penalty area, his 3rd goal for the club since his January move from Denizlispor.
Fethiye held out for the rest of the game to record their 1st away win in 15 attempts this season. To make the day even better nearest relegation rivals Nazilli were hammered 4-1 away, so with 5 games remaining Fethiye are 5 points above the relegation zone.
Fethiye are at home next weekend when they host promotion chasing Sakaryaspor. Earlier in the season the Black Sea side beat Fethiye 3-1 but the last time they played in Fethiye in 2012, the home side ran out 3-1 winners. :D

Fethiyespor held promotion chasing Sakaryaspor 2-2 in a pulsating game this evening. The visitors who would have gone top of the table with a win brought a mass of supporters who almost filled up the away end. Fethiye got just the start they wanted when after 8 mins Ustun Bilgi got his 5th goal for the club to put the hosts ahead. 2 mins later he was put through on goal again but blazed his shot over the bar. As the first half wore on the visitors began to press more and Fethiye's passing game went astray. With 4 mins to go to half time the visitors drew level when Cem Ekinci found the net after the Fethiye keeper had parried a shot away.
Sakarya kicked off the 2nd half and within 20 seconds of it starting they were 2-1 up when Ekinci finished off a flowing move down the right. Fethiye did not give up though and on 55 mins Bilgi was put through again but the keeper managed to put the shot wide. Fethiye had a couple of in-swinging corners that grazed the crossbar and a huge penalty appeal on 84 mins when Ahmet Dereli went down in the penalty area. However Fethiye levelled with just 2 mins remaining when captain Anil Tasdemir bundled the ball in from close range to score his 3rd goal in 2 games. Fethiye saw out the 5 mins of injury time to move 6 points clear of the relegation zone, although Nazilli have a home game on Sunday.
Fethiye are away in Istanbul next weekend when they face bottom side Silivrispor who they beat 3-0 at home earlier in the season.

Fethiyespor took another huge step towards ensuring their Lig 2 safety win a 2-0 win in Istanbul this afternoon against already relegated Silivrispor. After a rather dull first half with hardly any real chances, Fethiye took the lead on 51 mins with Ustun Bilgi grabbing his 4th goal in the last 4 matches. After 66 mins Ahmet Dereli made it 2-0 scoring with a shot from just outside the penalty area.
Silivrispor had a lifeline on 72 mins when they were awarded a penalty for handball against centre-half Erdi Bakirci but keeper Fatih Kaldan saved the spot kick. Thats how the game finished and Fethiye are now unbeaten in their last 4 games. The win keeps them in 15th place in the league on 32 points but they are now 9 above 3rd from bottom Nazilli who play in Ankara tomorrow.
A home match for Fethiye next weekend when they entertain 6th placed Bandirmaspor. The teams drew 0-0 earlier in the season, but on their last visit here in 2015 Bandirma won 3-1.

Thank you Stuart.  :)
Following todays games Karsiyka are the 2nd team to be relegated from Lig 2 and Nazilli ( who lost 3-2 away today) will almost certainly be the 3rd. With just 3 games left Nazilli are still 9 points behind Fethiyespor and also have to overcome a 14 goal inferior goal difference.
Just to correct a mistake with yesterdays goal scorers, it was Anil Tasdemir who scored the 2nd Fethiye goal and not Ahmet Dereli who supplied the pass.  :)  :)

Fethiyespor lost 1-0 at home to Bandirmaspor this afternoon, their first defeat in 5 matches. The match started slowly and had an end of season feel to it despite Bandirma being in the play-off mix. On 18 mins following a Fethiye attack the visitors took the lead when winger Cam broke down the left flank and fed Erhan Senturk who crashed a shot past the Fethiye keeper from just outside the box for his 16th goal of the season.
Fethiye lost captain Anil Tasdemir just before half time when he was stretchered  off with a foot injury. In the 2nd half Fethiye tried to press for an equaliser with several half chances, the best being Yigit Yoney's shot which grazed the crossbar. However Bandirma saw out the rest of the game and took home the 3 points. With 2 games left of the season Fethiye remain in 15th place, 6 points clear of Nazilli and with a superior goal difference  of 12.
Fethiye are away in Izmir next weekend  to face already relegated  Karsiyaka. Earlier in the season  the sides drew 0-0 in Fethiye. The last time Fethiye played in Izmir in 2014 they won the game 2-1.

Fethiyespor cruised to their biggest win of the season beating Karsiyaka 4-0 this afternoon in Izmir.Fethiye were 2-0 up after just 11 mins with full back Ramazan Isik netting the 1st goal and Ensar Enes Baykan the 2nd. Winger Ahmet Dereli added a 3rd goal just before half time. The rout was completed 3 mins from time when local boy Enes Dada got the 4th goal. So thats 11 points from the last 6 games and sees Fethiye move up to 14th in the league table.
The last game of the season next weekend sees Fethiye host Ankara based side Bugsas. Just befor the winter break Bugsas beat Fethiye 3-0 but when the teams last met in Fethiye in November 2015 it finished 0-0.

That win ensures Fethiye's safety, doesn't it?

Yes it does Stuart. Fethiye only needed 1 point to be mathematically safe from relegation but Nazilli lost 3-1 away at league leaders Gumushane and so they fill the last of the 3 relegation  places.

Onwards and upwards next season!

Let's hope Fethiye can keep hold of the better players and draft in a couple of good ones.

It seems that most players are contracted until June next year.

Fethiyespor rounded off their season with a 1-1 home draw with Bugsas this afternoon. Fethiye took the lead on the half hour mark with winger Ahmet Dereli scoring his 4th goal for the club since his January move from Adanaspor. However the visitors from Ankara levelled on 68 mins and thats the way the game finished. Fethiye with 14 points from their last 7 games finish the season in 14th place in the league with 36 points, which  is 2 points less than they got the season before.

Also congrats  to Bodrumspor who survived their 1st season in the other Lig 2 group with a 2-1 win on Saturday. Maybe they and Fethiyespor could be in the same group next season.  :)
