Just an update on the bedding.
We slept on the sheets for the 1st time - they are REALLY comfortable & the colour is really wonderful - bright green/blue, really uplifting.
Washed really well with no colour leakage, creased quite a bit but ironed well.
Wonder if they will crease less with tumble drying as I hate ironing?
Bought some percale sheets dead cheap in Shaws made of Egyptian cotton (the best) but love the colour of the sheets we had made so much that they have been put aside for later.

Just an update.

Found Sumer and asked for sheets to be made.   I wanted 4 single sets, 2 double and 2 king size.   Language was a bit of a problem, as I wanted fitted bottom sheets.   Eventually ordered (or thought I did) 12 pillowcases, 2 sets single, 1 set double and 1 set king size.  I thought I could re-order the same if they turned out all right.

Collected the sheets after two days, only to find they were all fitted!

Went back a few days later and ordered the flat ones ("elastic yok"!!) so eventually got what I needed!!

Another Turkish tale!

Hi there is a shop called Ozden, which makes your fitted bed sheets to size.  You choose your material in the shop and it is ready in 24 hours.  They also sell bed spreads, pillows, mattress protectors, blinds etc.  Not sure of the street.  But if you are walking past all the bars, car cemetry etc, away from the harbour, at the end of this street turn left, it is further along on the left.  A turkish friend took me, this is where she shops.
