Hi Teresa
If Crabbit had posted that one it certainly would have been a wind up  :) - but I've never heard of that brand a spelling error perhaps ?.

Guys,

Its actually pronounced Ar-cheh-lick not what you were (maybe)thinking  :-\ The C has one of those 5's under it. Oh and I did spell it wrong 'lik' not 'lick' LOL

You will see the name on Turkish billboards, TV and of course certain electrical white goods suppliers - they are well regarded by Turks (well at least the ones I know anyway).

I bought from

Kemal Akgun
Carsi Cad No 37
Fethiye

They have english speaking staff.

Take the road directly across from Gima and follow it up until you meet the 'top' road. The shop is on the corner right.

Web address for Arcelik is http://www.arcelik.com.tr/english. The site lists prices that are inclusive of fitting so its worth noting these before you go out so you can haggle!!!

Don't forget - its always worth shopping around. I tried 5 places and quotes varied with the highest at 750,000 trl for one unit!

Thanks 5neeky, we did believe you really.  I have all that stored away now in my little black Calis book for my visit in May.

The quote we got from our estate agent was much less than that - sounds like two units. We are getting ours fitted before we move in.

Do you mean much less than £190 per unit?

Hi Teresa

The price was max for both. We were not going to bother with a unit downstairs but after staying at Cenk's the other month we found the heat very welcome. So it looks like we might go for three units  which means the bedroom and ensuite on the top floor wont have one as it gets a good breeze from three sides - can always put one in later if need be or a small heater.

Hi Rob,

I have a four more rooms in my place to do and at those prices I'll be able to afford to do all of them this year. Who is you agent? Could you tell us the name of the company, spec of the units, service call out time, guarantee and local supplier name?

Cheers

5-

I'll throw my two penneth in as well for what its worth.

Just got back yesterday paid £220 per unit x 2 units = £440 for 9000 btu's, make was Mikata with a three year guarantee, warm and cold air, ordered and fitted within 4 hrs. All from Gunes electrical store in Fethiye. Also fitted 7 light fittings for an extra £8.00 -  a bargain.

Would certainly recommend them.
