why are we getting a lot of weird posts at the moment with intriguing titles and then when you open it it just says message - is there some kind of virus that will affect our computers or is someone just playing silly beggers?

No it's just some spammers targeting the site. I don't think you need to worry about opening the messages but if any you open have links posted then I would suggest you do not click on the link.

Not seen it yet but it could happen I suppose.

We try and delete them asap but sometimes there are no mods on line.

A pain in the butt - but that's life these days.

Are all these "MESSAGES" coming from the same IP address or are there several of them?

I can't them coming from the same IP address. If they were it would be easy to just block that IP address to stop it.I am curious to know though if they regiser on the forum and then post.

The truth is that these 'members' are automated bots posting in a way that cannot be prevented, only deleted. Usually we can see the sign up, view the alarm bells and delete the 'member' before they can post. They don't appear as members until they have posted and it's all done in a split second - sign up, post, gone for good.

If I could prevent it I would of course, but I can only fight humans - so rest assured we will delete at the earliest opportunity.
