Yes I think so, unless you have a British address.

I thought you had to be registered with a General Practitioner as well as having an address?

yes you have to be registered with a GP and have a British address, but Im not sure how much checking is done if you wanted to use someone elses address? this applies if you have been out of the country for six months

It is very much up to the GP as some strictly enforce the rules as others seem to turn a blind eye. Although we have an address in the UK, our GP practice enforces the rules strictly.

At the end of the day if you are resident in Turkey it is illegal to claim NHS health care.

Yes, I still pay tax and I am not entitled. Yet if I turn up as an immigrant from another EU country or a legal immigrant from anywhere else in the world and having not paid a penny into the system I am entitled to all the goodies on offer. After 6 months I can have unemployment benefit and everything else. That is why they have immigrant camps in Calais as they are all trying to get into the UK. They dont want what the rest of Europe is offering. They want the best available and that is what the UK provides.

You would receive emergency treatment free but it would not extend to treatment as an inpatient or or registered outpatient or routine non-emergency treatment from a GP or dentist. Also you would have to pay for medicines.  If you have lived back in Britain for six months you would then be qualified to receive treatment free.
