I think he will be missed by England, if all players played with his honesty and pride we would be a much better team

I agree, however, I think his future could lie with England in another capacity he should be employed in P.R. with England he would be a great ambassador for the game, he is such an inspirational figure, respected all around the world. I think he would do a great job.  He is 34 years old and was coming to the end of his career anyway so this may be the way forward for him.

Ouch!!! I have just watched the incident on the news. I felt so sorry for him. That kind of injury is puer agaony. I wish him a speedy recovery..........which probably won't be the case.

Puer agaony!! That must hurt -lol.

He will be missed BUT it means we can now take an extra right winger who has pace. Now room for both Wright-Phillips and Wallcott and maybe even Lennon if he's fit.

As one door closes.................

Who's to say he won't be fit by June.  Remember the broken bone last time.  Beckham is so determined and I bet he will bust his guts to do everything he can to get fit.  He might just make it.  I hope so as even if he only plays part matches his very presence there will inspire others.  I really think England needs him there with his experience to calm the younger players.

Yes, physio on T.V. this morning said it would have been better to have broken a bone as it would heal quicker, she also said 8 months, he will be 35 years old then, I can't see him playing again, and perhaps it's as well to go now when he is still playing at the top level.

I initially thought that his goals for free kicks would be a big loss, but looking at his record he has scored 17 goals in 115 appearances and in his three World Cup Final appearances he has scored "only" three times.
