I know nothing about this subject but it interests me as our neighbour in Ovacik has just been burgled, again.

I've seen the camera packages available etc and I assumed that you need to plug these into a PC to get them to go onto the net. is that not the case?

I was worried what happens after one of the frequent power cuts about it re booting and starting working again.
Also does it record the images so if you do get burgled you can replay the footage to the police. If you can I assume you will need to be in Turkey for this, ie can it record to a 'cloud' if thats the right terminology?

Your camera connects wirelessly to your router and unfortunately will stop recording if a power cut occurs, when the power resumes both the router and camera will re boot and work correctly.

As far as I can work out the images are recorded and then recalled from a sort of cloud arrangement, on the model I have you can also enable a motion detection feature which will send you a message if triggered and you can then tune into the camera via smartphone, IPad or PC. It also has a speaker so you can transmit your voice via the camera.

I would expect you would need to be in Turkey to present any of this to the police.

Once (if) I get mine working over the internet will update further

The ones I have send an email of 5 pictures once triggered to any email account set up. Also it can send to an ftp site of your choosing.
Bear in mind if you're being robbed the router and cameras may also get taken (unless screwed down).
I have mine as I think my key holder is using my apartment for his own benefit.

Buy yourself a small UPS ( uninterrupted power supply) which also has a surge protector and connect your computer, router and security system. This means that when your power goes off the systems stay on and automatically revert when power returns.

At the moment cameras are installed in our garden. I don't know what they charge for new applications for internet at TTNET
, but my installers said , they charge 3 TL extra for a static ip.

The static ip is about that. I'm looking for the cheapest internet now as I'm only here about 6 weeks a year so not bothered about usage limits etc
