The only players of note to join the squad were Clichy, Nasri and Aguero.

And where did the other 8 on the pitch come from - through the youth system??!! No, from the same place these three did, just earlier.

Back on track to the original question.  I will miss Balotelli.  He is a real character and any match he was playing in was worth watching just to see what he was going to do.
I see he had a Garage Sale and sold off all his stuff, but the sale was only open to other Footballers.
Wonder what he will do with his camouflage limo?

Personally I will miss Balotelli, he was a rock n roll character, that didnt take it to seriously. His donations to the two schools specialising in the re habilitation of child soldiers in Africa generally went unnoticed. He was a colourful character who had time for the fans and the general Joe in the street. He never jumped out of a window to avoid a drugs test, he never made love to his brothers wife. Being unmarried he never slept with any grandmothers behind his pregnant wifes back. He never called anyone a black ****, nor did he ever claim to be incontinent whilst speeding in his car.

Good luck Mario thanks for the laughs.

Same as any team in the country. Players come and go every season. Some cheap some for millions. Those same players still have to train every day and develop the understanding of each others game play so that trophies can be won. The driving force behind that is the manager/coach not the multi billionaire owner!

So the difference between Man City in the barren decades and Man City now is that in the years in the wilderness you didn't have Roberto Mancini?

Pull the other one Russ! Total rubbish.

So well done to the well run clubs like Arsenal, Everton, Wolves who attempt to manage to balance their books.

Yes well done, you probably will never win the Premiership ever again, but that's sport life.
Possibly you could be right, but the word you got wrong was win,i think you meant BUY the premiership.

Exactly right Des. Except if you are a City fan like Russ!

Apparently, players bought by the billionaire investors last year cannot be included as components bought by him in their pursuit of winning this year's Premiership. They are existing players and no sugar daddy was needed to acquire them. Well, not this season anyway.

Right Russ? :D

The premiership has always been bought, why is there a problem because there is more competiton now?

It used to be bought with money club's generated themselves from being a football club.

I have no problem with people having no problem with it. If you are happy that a richer person or concern than those at Man City might come along, and buy (for example) Peterborough, and that in 5 years Peterborough will be Premiership champions, then get on with enjoying English football.
