I am with you on this one sannyrut the Magpies are the complete scavenger and the number we get coming in to our garden at any one time is about 7-8 and they deter all of the smaller birds from nesting as they will eat both eggs and young.

In their quest to eat anything edible in our garden and despite my paranoid disposition towards squirrel and large bird proof feeders I have lately see the blighters swinging on one of out squirrel proof nut feeders >:( >:( >:(

Our pheasant Ginger who now rushes over to us to be feed.  However, he must be worn out, just seen his No.2 wife with a new batch of chicks.
