    By oily fish they are referring to those farmed around the Oil  Rigs.           ;)

We went to Charcoal Palace the other night.
Tried the fish and chips but was not a fan of the fish at all.  I did not like the texture or taste at all but I will say that the better and chips were spot on.  Perfectly crisp and grease free.  It's just a pity haddock is not available here as he has everything else right.

Agree with that completely Anne. 
First visit we really enjoyed it but I did think the fish itself  a bit mushy/sloppy.   I thought maybe I was being fussy because I don't particularly like fish but love good chips, mushy peas, crisp batter etc  All the other food was fab and I was happy to recommend to others .    Second visit, I left the fish but ate everything else as it was delicious.  Best batter ever but I couldn't recommend  the actual fish -

We bought Basa from one of the supermarkets, frozen. It was appalling, like fish substitute made in a laboratory. Never again...
