I was in New York in Spring and found the prices of real designer stuff a fraction of G.B. prices.
There are three great shops in the Village that sell second hand designer clothes and shoes that have been wore onces or twice, a lot of the shoes come straight from the catwalk and are like new - I bought three pairs Prada,Christian Dior and - wait for it---- Manolo Blahnik!!!! Designer heaven.

Last week on the holiday prog that is on BBC1 there was a bit about people driving from Italy back to the UK and going through France.
Most Brits had their purchases of fake goods that they had purchased in Italy slashed and smashed at the border by the French customs. This is because the french designer goods are protected. I wonder how soon it will be before it starts to happen at UK customs?
