The Amazing Value in Turkey Now

What examples do you have of tremendous value for money?

I was amazed several times in October - not least that a taxi from Jiva Beach to the bridge is now cheaper than the dolmus :o

If you add on 100 yards or so to the Mutlu hotel, it's an additional 5 lira!!

Every night an example really but probably Babzen and Gunisik the best examples.

We had really good nights out (and late ones at that) for well under £ 20 per person.

On a trip to Istanbul last week we went to the Koc Museum, 18tl each entrance. We were there all day from 10.00 till 1600, amazing place with wide ranging items from toys to pristine cars and even a submarine. Lunch, we bought 2 large cheese and salami rolls, a can of coke and a cay, all for the price  of 14tl. A great day out for 50tl  :)  :)

Probably loads of examples when I can think of them but the Calis Water Taxi for me still fabulous value for money.  They increased the price from 7.5tl when we were out in May to 8.5tl in October but still just over £1 for a half hour boat trip across a beautiful bay. So relaxing. I love it   :)

A meal for 2 of us big lads in the lokantas opposite the Otogar for 23TL total.

2 kokorec, salad, pickles, 3 or 4 teas each, 2 ice creams. 30TL total including a tip.

Even better if you use a Kent Kart, the fare is only 2.55 Tl.

The best examples we found in june AND October  were,.

excellent huge fresh cooked meals in Gunisik with a bottle of bomonti beer or bottle effes or a glass of good wine or soft drink @  25 TLR to 28TLR.
.
Sun bed full size towels @6 TLR each in clothes shop [ Safrie ? ] opposite the big supermarket at top of main street good quality ,  10 TLR in lidl.   25 TLR to 15 TLR else where same make/ style,  saves packing to many  towels in suitcases

water taxi 30 mins brilliant trip 7.5 TLR.

my  usual holiday  hand cut layered  hair cut  in  gok & aye next to gunisik  @ 15 TLR  took 30 mins  £2  == £12  today in my home town 10 mins clipper  zipped off...

loads of other stand out examples to be found, this year.

we always gave a nice tip  unlike a group of 6 people 2 who are members of CBF who had  excellent main  meals & drinks running up a bill of around 130 TLR in the gunisik  and left with all there change without a tip,  same meals in many other places would have cost them around about 200 TLR and they visited the gunisik several times and boasted in our hotel how cheap it was  there
