Title: Warm welcome in Uzumlu
Post by: suehugh on December 31, 2013, 09:26:27 AM
Just like to say thanks for the warm welcome we received the last two weeks in Uzumlu.
We were there to purchase property and the friendlyness we encountered kept us sane during the process.

Happy New Year to you all

Sue and Hugh

Yes, the hoods came with the house. And as soon as I can figure out how to light the woodburner, we will be dancing round it.
But seriously scunner, the trick was, not to sit outside the Winehouse and watch the world not going by, but to sit at the Dolmus stop, and watch the people getting on and off.

I'll make that my New Years resolution then, to relaunch the Klan in Uzumlu. Now I just have to find a suitable meeting place in the village and think up an initiation ceremony.
Happy New Year to all from the soon to be independant state of Uzumlu.  8)

Sue made her own uniform on Saturday. We were on side of the village and the rain was pelting down. Lacking an umbrella, sue cut one side of a plastic carrier to use as a hood. She punched a hole in another to go over her shoulders. Unfortunately the fire kept going out.
I did take pictures, but she deleted them for some reason.
