Title: New UK passport
Post by: DonM on June 28, 2013, 18:27:49 PM
We spend 6 months in Fethiye 1 Nov until 30 April.   :)

I've just renewed my UK passport and I'm wondering if they will except my new passport with my residency permit which still has 3 months to run.

I know the passport number is not on the residency permit but being 80 I don't need any hassle at all when I arrive in Dalaman.

Any advice will be most welcome.

He has residency Quackers so there won't be a visa stamp.

But, still take both passports.

I was informed if you applied for residency the end date must be before the expiry date of your current passport. Is this wrong?

Thanks for the replies.

I applied for 2 years residency in Dec 2011 it was not until later I realised my passport expired in September 2013, I still got the 2 years but that's Turkey for you. ;D ;D

Normally there is six months required on the passport after a visa and in this case residency permit expires; this is the same for any visa anywhere in the world.

Interesting though that yours went through and useful to know this might be a possibility for someone considering how to bring their passport renewal in line with a new residency application   :)

I would not rely on it as I think mine was an oversight.
