Bought strawberries when we were over end of March.  They were lovely but went over very quickly (best eaten on the day they are bought.)

Strawberries are a bit top heavy compared with oranges and the like. Due to this they will, when placed upright, "go over very quickly". I hope this clarifies the fruit situation.
