Does anyone have the name of a company that they use & would recommend to sweep/clean the chimney pipes on the SOBA?
Thanks.....

We take ours down wash them through with a hose and a brush and bobs your Uncle. Bit of a hassle but easy enough... Unless yours are fixed up inside a chimney?
You might find someone at one of the shops that sell Sobas who'd be willing to do it for a few lira...

Have just tried some stuff that a Turkish friend recommended and it seems to have had the desired affect.
Baca Acici ( Sobba pipe cleaner)Yellow and red packet with picture of chimney on it. Very easy to use . Light fire and add one packet, lot of crackling noises as it cleans the pipes. Soot removed from the pipes and ends up in with the ash Price 50 kurus a packet. Need to repeat the process about once a month

I tried it last year, but it didn't really do anything. I had to take the pipes down and clean them with the tool bought from the soba man. :o

There's a guy north of Fethiye that can help, he's in the area this month too.

Ho ho ho!: :)

Originally had a lot of soot comming out of the pipes onto the marble floor outside. Has stopped that, so must have done something. Each to their own!!

Thank you everyone for your suggestions even Santa!! :) we'll try the self cleaning method first, then get someone in if that doesn't work,,,,,,,,

Any hints on lighting the soba some times it can be a pain. :D

Spray a small amount of cheap Lemon Cologne on the kindling. It's alcohol based so it'll light easily.
