Is it dearer than the Oben corner?  ;)

If your at the fish market day time make sure u pop and say hello to Ali
It'll cheer him up no end!!

He works selling and cleaning the fish
(hence why saying hello to him will cheer him up!!)

We had a few meals in the fish market during the summer but because of the last experience in the small cafe in the veg market we will be pretty wary visiting again.
On our last night, my husband decided to order Grouper which was pretty expensive to say the least.  On tasting it he said it was off and told the owner [nicely].  The owner said it was ok, never offered to replace it and still charged us the full amount. There was no apology.  We'd eaten at that place at least four times that summer but will never visit again.

:)I think your better off going with someone turkish, because we dont like asking how much it will be at the begining of a meal, and there you just pay for your fish first, and think the price is fair, then you get hammered for the rest of the bill,Nah, I can think of better places to have a nice meal, and how could they not refund for a fish that was'nt fresh, doubt if I will be bamboozled into going there again by any fish lovers, noooo way.:P

I think that is a little unfair generalization. We normally eat at Oztuklu but have used two or three other places and have never been hammered. All these places have a menu and none of them will mind you asking to see them so you can see exactly what you should be paying and you can always refuse the fish if you don't like the price. They will all quote a price for salad and bread and the cooking.  Where you may get caught is a starter or dessert that you did not order thinking it to be a freebie.......if something turns up ask is this on the house Yes you don't pay for it No you refuse it.  For those who do not like to smell the fish while you are eating there are a few places in the adjacent streets who will cook your fish if you take it to them as well, there are a couple in the street with TEB Bank on the corner :)
