Does anyone have a rough idea of the cost involved having a 1.5m dish installed, and can this be used by more than 1 apartment if they have their own sky box.
thanks Mark

I'm really confused on the issue of digital t.v. in Turkey[|)][?]
Please can anyone tell me what is the best option?
Ideally would like to get sport and most english channels will have a Sky box and card to bring over, but no subscription in UK as will have to cancel here before moving over.

Any help would be most appreciated.:D

You don't have to cancel Sky when you leave the UK.

I don't really want to keep paying £45 per month for Sky, plus we will be renting our house in England, and there may be a problem if the tenants want to have Sky too!!

Well how much a month do you want to pay? If a Sky subscription isn't an option you have a choice of the few free to air channels on a Sky redundant box & card, Digiturk for around a tenner a month, or a one off payment free satellite service which is free of monthly subscription and free of channels worth even bothering with.

Sorry Scunner for being dim here, just thought it might be a problem keeping Sky and not residing in UK. Please can you tell me what channels you get with Digiturk[?]

When I was in argos last week you could get a sky package for a 1 off £75 payment. Obviously this is only the free to air channels but you get a box & I assume card as well as a dish installed.
does anyone know if this box & card will work if brought over? Maybe another option is to buy a box & card from ebay.

The only problem there is that the box has to be connected to a phone line for the first 12 months, obviously not possible if it is in Turkey. As to what they (Sky) would do if they discovered it wasn't I don't know.

What do you want to watch?
Hotbird (13e) and sirius (5e) have english language channels and no fees if you get the right box and can update the software yourself. (or get a turkish box and shops in fethiye will do it for you for a fee) + some on turksat(42e)
Currently available channels are:
Kids:
Cartoon network, disney, boomerang, jetix, cbeebies.
General:
AXN SciFi, AXN crime, BBC prime, BBC knowledge, BBC lifestyle, BBC entertainment, BBC news, tnt, cnbc-e, e2.
Films:
About 18 channels (+some adult)

There may be more, but i don't get much chance to watch tv and they're the ones i know about.
