What Do Criminals Have to do to get Banged Up?

I was watching one of these programmes that follow the police during their daily routine.

They received a call saying that a gang had attached a card skimming machine and were back to take it away, together with all the information they had skimmed so they could start using it to make thousands of pounds worth of fdraudulent transactions with other people's cards.

It was very impressive as false things go - painted the correct colour, all required electronics inside to read the magnetic strip and a camera to record the PIN number being inputted. The commentary confirmed that £1 million A DAY is lost to card fraudsters.

The police were, in fairness, brilliant. They got to the scene, blocked their car in and unbelievably perhaps managed to arrest all 5 of the gang members, even though they scarpered off in all directions. One was floored within about 2 metres, another policeman managed to detain two gang members on his own, great stuff.

Now, due to the appearance, and more importantly their reactions to police orders, it seemed quite apparent these conmen weren't British. They didn't seem to understand what they were being ordered to do at all.

They were all charged, then bailed to appear at a later date.

NOT ONE OF THEM TURNED UP AND NOW NOBODY KNOWS WHERE THEY ARE!!!

Why the hell do the police even bother.

it's the way the country is right now Kieth, however you, as the police know where you live etc and me are stuffed for even a parking ticket etc.

slightly off topic ok way off, I went to shop in MK today and was about to park my car out side the some council office which used to be cheap parking when I noticed that the parking had moved to peak charges and looking up I noticed the coucil offices building was empty what a suprise!

You don't need identity cards. When, on a rare occasion, you catch criminals red handed, don't let them out of your sight until they are through the courts and banged up.

Simple really.

There are a few of solutions to this.

1 no parole the sentence you get is what you do

2 deport all illegal immigrants straight away

3 make the prison regime harsher criminals would think twice

4 build bigger prisons with smaller cells then all offenders can be locked up until court appearance no bail

5. Build bigger prisons and add 2p to income tax to pay for them all. But use every 2p to do this, with fully open accounts.

When I used to sell paint (come on someone had to) this is what EVERYONE thought. I used to speak to dozens of people every day from shop floor to boardroom and EVERYONE was talking about it, north to south, east to west. If everyone agrees, who is preventing it?
