In 1905 the Khedive of Egypt acquired a large part of the fertile land near Dalaman and ordered plans and materials from an architect in France to build a residence for himself. At the same time plans and materials for Alexandria train station in Egypt were ordered. The two simultaneous shipments were misdirected and the Khedive's residence headed to Egypt whilst the station along with some track arrived in Dalaman. The building was erected there along with some useless track and still serves a purpose at the State Farm.
