When 24/7 isn't
« on: December 24, 2010, 15:07:33 PM »
I arrived back from Calis this week to find that the central heating boiler had broken down in my absence, as a result all the water pipes had frozen. I gradually got running water throughout the house & the following night was woken around 2am by a strange noise. I went to investigate thinking I'd left a tap running in the bathroom, but found it was a burst pipe:(

I got out the yellow pages & rung about a dozen "emergency" plumbers that advertised being 24/7, all but 2 were ansaphones helpfully telling me that their office was now closed, but I could ring back after 8am. Of the remaining 2 one offered to come around 6pm:-\ the last being my saviours, who promised to come around 2 hours later & did so fixing everything within around 20 mins. So a big thank you to SGM Plumbers, as for the rest, they obviously didn't want to take out their shiny Ferraris in the snow ;)
