We brought a 20" tv over in a hard shell suitcase surrounded in bubble wrap. Not a problem.

We also brought one over last year in our suitcase, just wrapped in bubble wrap and some bath towels.  It was only a year old, but we had replaced it with a bigger one at home.  We took a chance thinking it may be taken from us, but no problem at all.  It has a built in dvd player, which is great for films in our apartment.  Take the chance Phil!  :)

I find the customs don't like things in boxes, if you can put whatever it is in your luggage they don't seem to bother you.

we took a 20 inch flat screen over in hand luggage. Bubble wrapped and in a Tescos heavy duty bag.Put the base in main luggage, managed to get it in the over head locker on the plane. I didnt give import duty a thought (ooops!!) Glad I didnt or I would have looked guilty walking through with it.:D

Can anyone give me an update on information on buying a flat screen 26in TV with earphone socket.
I read on this tread that Kippa and Migros were selling them for 450TL back in Jan
We only visit the apartment for several weeks in the year so we do not want to be tied up with monthly payments.
Can anyone tell me if you can make one off payment for satalite TV
Would very much appreciate your help.[?]

We took a 32" tv into Turkey, did get stopped at customs and had to pay, but it was not having to pay the price but the aggrivation it caused, they siezed the tv on a friday at 5.00pm and we had to go back to Dalaman on Monday to collect the tv, but it wasnt just a matter of paying we spent half a day in Dalaman sorting out the paperwork, just not worth the aggro, go to Errins spot

Taking TVs to Turkey sounds rather like coals to Newcastle; Turkey manufactures more than half of Europe's TVs.

I would definitely buy one over there. Migros always going to be cheaper.
