Not entirely 'coals to Newcastle' though - unless most of that coal was rebranded as foreign coal, then returned to Newcastle, once import duties had been added to the price :-\

Thanks all for your advice so far most helpful
We are over on 17th so we can have a look round for a TV then(we do have one but the big backed type:-\
we did consider bringing one over but now we know they are just as cheap in Turkey and it is not worth the risk or hassle .....

Us "oldies" struggle with metric. Speaking personally, I still work in "old money".
56 cm I think equates to 22" and 140 cm works out at roughly 56" (thats some tv screen lol)
Not bad prices quoted from Tekno. Certainly not worth the hassle and potential fine and import duty if you are stopped by customs at Dalaman.

From my experience, not worth it..Iwouldnt bother bringing such commodities as TV, Washer , Dryer etc into Turkey for, yes, half of those supplies are produced in Turkey and sold to Eu and Eastern Europe. In any case, there is always room for bargaining in Turkey which makes shopping fun rather than a necessity...
