A rose-tinted-glasses view of Calis

Some people say that Calis is not all that it's craked up to be. I beg to differ.

On the first morning on our second visit to Calis I woke early and went down for breakfast. The beautiful Nevra was the only other person in the restaurant, Eva Cassiday singing Fields of Gold was on the CD and this was the view that greeted me.

I think I have probably met up with more people who are in Calis for the first time ever than anyone else (over the years) and I realised that there are 3 types of people.

1. People who love it at first sight
2. People who aren't in love with it but will soon be
3. People who aren't in love with it and never will be

The people in category 3 don't like the gravelly side roads, the cows next to the luxury villa, the hand written signs etc. What they wanted was Puerto Banus but don't want to pay Puerto Banus prices and leave disappointed. It's funny, the people in categories 1 and 2 far outnumber those in 3, and they like it because of the cows, the gravelly roads, the handwritten signs etc...

I've only been to Calis once, a weeks holiday in Jan 2011, I am in cat 1, love the place as much as I love the country & would happily settle there, once I can afford it, watch this space!

Definitely Cat 1.   Mr Pookie was Cat 3 (he went to Altinkum - what else can I say ?[xx(]), but as soon as I persuaded him to come to Fethiye region I soon upgraded him to Cat 1 !!!  Can't get enough of it.....
