Looking forward to the beating drum again......it will be an interesting one this year as Ramazan hits in the heat of the summer (beware those short tempers on the road !). Can someone let me know the exact dates please ? and dates for Seker bayrami ? thank you, you lovely lot.[:X][:X]

According to my Turk Calendar Bayram is 30th 31st August and 1st Sept
So Ramazan starts 28 days earlier so I guess 2nd August or thereabouts, though even my Turk Boyfriend doesnt know the exact dates

the dates im aware of is as follows...

Ramazan
2011: 1 August - 29 August

Bayram

2011: 30 August-1 September

Lovely, thank you for your replies. We arrive on 2nd August for three weeks, and can't wait to hear the drummer walking through the village every morning. I find it strangely therapeutic. Mr Pookie however closes the windows and buries his head under the pillows and curses about ungodly hours whilst plotting to kidnap the drum and hide it in the pool house...
