Back in the 1980s a couple we knew met with another couple in the local pub and were having a few drinks before ordering a meal. Suddenly our friend Phil starting shouting (well talking animatedly) "Fascist state? Fascist state? Yes, this bloody country is a fascist state. That effing Thatcher woman and her Nazi chums are ruining this bloody country .... " and so on for several minutes. It attracted the attention of all those those in the bar. Eventually his wife managed to calm him down. He protested that he was only agreeing with what John had said. She had to point out to him "What John said was 'I think I fancy steak?'"
