opening ceremony tonight

we just came back from fethiye,and they have set up a stage for the opening ceremony tonight at the rear of the blue cultural centre,For the improvements to the harbour area, I think it starts at 7pm but not sure.
The fountains will be turned on and the statue of attaturk is now in place,Its looking really nice.

I was down there earlier today and it is looking really good & the stage has indeed be erected but there is still considerable work in progress and some of those animal sculpters could do with a trim already  : :)

walked along when we were over in september, hope that someone can take some photo's of it all now its finished and of the opening ceremony.  it was all looking very "swish".

The opening ceremony was a truly amazing event.  Its looks fantastic, the water fountains with changing colour lights, brilliant new statue, glass bridge with water forced on to coloured squares and fantastic topiary.  The mayor has much to be proud of.

We saw them practicing with the fountains and lighting when we were there earlier this week. I must say they have done well. It's going to be fabulous. A huge improvement  to that part of Fethiye. If I was there I would try to get up on the terrace bar opposite Macdonalds, surely the best vantage point.
