You are right the clock does show two different times but the tower is not quite finished, there are signs to go up so it will show the time in different countries

It looks absolutely lovely - hopefully we will see it next June.  What have they done with the area right in front of the culture centre - it was still being worked on when we were there last month.

Ata Turk statue

What I believe is a solar lighting lamp post and children's park

Some beleaguered looking dolphins

The area in front of the culture centre is a blank canvas - intended for audiences for events I guess...

Judging by the photos from last night it is far more impressive by night than by day. Most of the fountains weren't working today and a lot of workmen around doing things to the various features.

OK call me picky but there are a few things I don't like.

Yes its beautifull at night and will have many uses - but in daylight its a bit bland, could do with some more greenery (although that may come once its finished) and there is a lack of protection from both the sun and rain.

Well if Jim is being picky then so will I. What is this obsession with having various clocks showing the time in other countries? I want to know what the time is where I am and if that is Turkey I can subtract two hours to get UK time without the need for a separate clock. I certainly would not care less what the time is in New York or Mumbai either.

Are they only turning the fountains on in special occasions? we were there for 4 -5 hours today and they were turned off the whole time. Dissappointing :( no lights on the fountains either apart from near the clock tower. :( wanted to see it all lit up and working, i thought it was open now? :/

Saw it tonight.
Really impressed by the lighting and fountains which provide a beautiful background for the skateboarders, boy racers and stunt cyclists.

It looks lovely but definitely lacking in benches at the children's playground.
No place to sit for tired (or bored  8)) parents.
