Staying on Meis
« on: April 18, 2013, 10:21:39 AM »
Has anyone ever done an overnighter on Meis?

Any recommendations re somewhere to stay there?

I assume its possible to get two singles or an overnight return on the Fethiye/Meis boat- hydrofoil

Thanks

Is there a service between Fethiye and Meis ? As far as I know Meis is only served by boats from Kas or the twice weekly ferry from Rhodes.

You have to go to Kas to get to Mais there is no ferry service from Fethiye....

But did it a couple of years back and would recommend it. The harbour in the evening is a fantastic place to dine and generaly chill out. No problem staying overnight just inform whichever ferry service you use that you are staying overnight and they will arrange for you to retain your passport (they normally hang on to them on the day trips). We stayed at The Poseidon which is located on the far right of the harbour and can heartily recommend it.
All the accomodation around the harbour is fairly expensive but you can sometimes get a good deal by booking through the ferry company, we used Mais Express and had them arrange it for us. If memory serves it was 50 euro for the room and buffet style breakfast for two people.
