A lot of women dress up for the Kings Garden i.e. long dresses.  I do (any excuse)  so a nice pair of long trousers on your partner IMHO looks good.

Would need to be trousers IMHO. Nice lightweight ones with a cool short sleeved shirt. Defo NO Union Jack shorts lol

Nice tailored shorts would look better than some trousers. On holiday, wear what you like, if they turn you away you wouldn't have wanted to be there anyway

Sorry Scunner, it's not the shorts it's the legs that need to be good to carry off a pair of tailored shorts.  Better to hid all skinny/hairy/fat/veins/sunburn/  under a nice cool pair of lightweight trousers.
