lost wedding ring
« on: September 04, 2013, 16:15:44 PM »
My son in law, was so excited about his 17month old daughter's first swimming trip from the boat. We were having a trip on Jerry Boat Deja Vue, when his wedding ring slipped off. He was in Rabbit bay, he is devastated about it. Jerry did say he would find it if it was in the bay as he would go snorkeling there and as the water is so clear he would find it. If anyone finds it we would be be so relieved to have it returned. Please if swimming and snorkeling in that bay please look out for it.

Tell him to report it to the Police, get a Police Reference number and he can claim on his Travel Insurance.  This will not make up for the sentiment involved with this ring of course, but will go some way toward helping to get another one...

Why would the Police be interested? It's a loss, not a theft.

No wonder insurance costs keep on going up.

Don't think the police would give a reference number, as said before, this is a loss, not a theft. Possibily worth a try but you should be prepared to spend a long time waiting. Maybe worth looking at house policy, rather than holiday insurance as sometimes possible to claim on there.

Quite an abusive comment when KKOB was correct in his answer.  The police will not be interested at all, its a loss not a theft.  Would the police in the UK be interested if the situation was repeated there?  I think not.
