Walking in the Fethiye area
« on: September 12, 2013, 19:00:11 PM »
Hi
My husband and I(very youthful 70 year olds) are visiting Fethiye for the first time in mid October.  We are very keen walkers and would be very grateful for any suggestions of walks we could do using public transport.  We are particularily interested in walking part of the Lycian way.
Are there any walking groups around that we could walk with.  We will be there from 13th-23rd October.
Happy Wanderers

Kismet walking group should have re started by then. We do between 3 and 4 hours on Wednesdays, we meet at 12, the venue is usually advertised on their Facebook page - Kismet Bar Fethiye.
If you dont have Facebook and would like to pm me a few days before you arrive I will be able to tell you where we're off to if you would like to come along and join us?
We tend to start a bit flatter the first few weeks and build up to the steep hills, so October should be a relatively gentle stroll with some lovely views Im sure.

Hi kayakebab after reading you post I looked on the Kismet FB page and could not find any mention of a walking group as we are out in a week and have a keen walker with us who may be interested in joining a walk.

Any additional info would be appreciated.

Hi
Thank you for the information.  I also couldn't find out anything about walking on the Kismet bar Facebook page.  We would love to walk with the group on wed 16th October.  Please can you let us know where you will be meeting and how we can get there without a car.
We are staying in Calis.
Thank you Loiner.  How do we get in touch with the Calis walking group and when and where do they meet?

Hi
We haven't started up again with Kismet yet, it's just too hot.
Late 30s in the shade still. Pheww!
Ian was hoping for end of September, and posts the plans a few days before on the Kismet page.
As Eric mentioned, 2 hashing groups, they are Sundays and walks are on Olu Deniz and Fethiye hash house harriers respective websites and they walk for an hour to an hour and a half all year round.
