« on: November 23, 2013, 14:35:17 PM »
Is it possible to buy colour catchers (for washing clothes) in Fethiye. If so where and what are they called in Turkish if different.

Cheers   :)

Make sure you count them in and then count them out. I didn't and they went all the way through to the outlet pipe causing blockage and flood.

A colour catcher is a little white cloth you put in a mixed wash to catch any dye leaking out of the clothes to save dying others if you get my drift.
When the wash is finished you take it out of the machine and it is usually dyed. Then you bin it.

There is a little shop along from the Dolmus Depot behind the mosque that sells little net covered plastic frames that you are supposed to use to put bras in so the hooks don't get stuck into other items.
The shop is on the Depot road opposite the new multi story (unused ) shopping centre.
these little  box's cost about 4 lire and are ideal for putting the colour catcher in. They usually hang them outside the doorframe but if you pop in and ask for 1, I am sure the lady will be able to help you.  They have a zip around the top so put the colour catcher in zip it up close the zip down securely and it will not get into the works of the washing machine.
