casa di mama
« on: September 11, 2014, 11:30:30 AM »
For the first time ever I have been disappointed with them, I ordered plain steak with onion and tomato, the steak looked like it had been prepared earlier, ready to be covered in a sauce, it was cold and dry, and the potatoes were just dolloped on, and the mixed meze was no better, full of grease,

That's disapointing :(
Did you bring it to the waiters attention?

No. I never, simply because I couldn't be bothered waiting and then having to eat while everyone else had finished, it just holds everyone else up, if it had  been covered in pepper sauce or similar I probably wouldn't have noticed, apart from the texture,  :(

We were there on Wed too. Garlic bread came up Cold and pasta was a little gloppy and looked reheated and salad didn't look very fresh! First time I have experience this! Any reason? Lack of kitchen staff maybe? All tasted fine but just didn't seem up to normal standards. :( I love this restaurant and we use it a lot when we are over! Maybe just a bad night?

4 of us went there last nights and we have no complaints at all.
I asked for a 14oz fillet, rare, with chips, fried onions and mushrooms, and nothing else and that is what I got.
another case of hot and cold methinks

Please don't  let this be another 'trial by calis beach forum'
Rather than telegraph the one bad meal you had.... why don't  you write about the places you recommend.. this would be much better.
These are real people  with families  to feed.... Their businesses  can be severely damaged by your thoughtless remarks.
I for one have always had superb food served at this restaurant.
Try letting the staff know next time.. they will appreciate your honesty face to face I'm  sure!!

I very rarely recommend any restaurants, there is a weakness of inconsistency amongst them and all you can do is go to the one which is most consistent, Ive eaten at Casa di Mama twice this year, first time was
Decidedly average and second time was lovely.  :)
