where there is blame?
« on: August 31, 2015, 16:17:21 PM »
Saw a post on FB today asking if anyone knew a lawyer who could take on a case regarding negligence by a hotel and then the hospital? It got me wondering if there actually is such a thing as being able to sue in these circumstances? I know we  always laughed off the "Where there is blame etc" while we were living in Fethiye.

Yep, even more so in Turkey.  Look at some of the petty things that end up in court - farting in front of the Prez, not being nice (to the right/wrong people) on social media etc.

Turks have always appeared - to me anyway - to be pretty litigious.  It's just a shame that the legal system gets so clogged up with petty and vexatious cases that the important ones can drag on for years (land disputes, property disputes etc).
