ADSL works, Phone does not.
« on: September 22, 2015, 10:16:12 AM »
Does anyone know an existing or ex TTNET guy who knows what he is doing to come and sort out the mess the last TTNET guy made please.
I know there are a lot of intelligent people knocking about, I just hope a CBF member knows of someone in that category who may be able to help me.
CBF always produces the goods, lets see if they can on this one.

Have you tried plugging your phone into someone else's line to test it ?

And if KKOB tip on testing your phone on someone else's line suggests the phone is working OK check your filter (the plastic splitter device between the line in from the wall and the phone cable and modem cable), again try that on a neighbours that you know is working OK.  Also worth plugging and unplugging the phone lead several times from the splitter, as sometimes the connection is not good, particularly on cheap filters.  If that fails then as you are getting the ADSL signal/service it is probably an exchange/data-fill fault, you will need to report this to Turk Telecom.

You can phone them, they have an english speaking option, but I suggest you report it online, they have an english fault reporting section on the website, make sure you chase them on the original fault every 12 hours or so, or they will close your fault report.  If you are desperate you could go to the main Turk Telecom office in Fethiye, but my own experience of that bunch of unhelpful scrotes is that hell would freeze over before I go back there again!!  Good luck.

I have tried my phone in next doors and it works there.
There  is a bunch of wires that have just been tied together, this is why I could do with someone who has a bit of pride in their work to sort it out once and for all.
My neighbour has already been on to TTNET, all they are bothered about is to get it working.
I need it all to be tidied up, and look more British than Turkish

Please let me know how this turns out Snowtop & UBT, we have had now phone line for the past 4 months.
ADSL works as normal.
Have tried all the usual suspects but no joy.
Of course, according to Turk Telecom, it's our fault, not theirs!   :-\
