Roughly 4.38 in the UK but you will get more when changing in Turkey (8% more in my experience).

When do you go ?

We got 4.60TL  a few days ago.
Here is the Offical Bank  Rate on the Dovis Website, it changes all the time, so you can keep it on your favourites and check the rate when you are over.   As it is the Bank Rate you will get a little less in the Exchange places

Best exchange rate is Kuwait bank in Fethiye and you don't need to have an account there... We got quite a lot more than our own bank and certainly mpore than Calis change office.. We find the jewelers in Calis do a better rate than them...

As it says on the sign in the Change Office, it is against the law to change money in any other place apart from a Bank, a Post Office or an Official Change Office. This is why all the jewellery shops were visited by the Police and made to take down their signs.  A lot of Jewellery Shop were money laundering and this is why the Government cracked down on it.
Also, if you use the Change Shop in Calis, always ask is this their best rate and can they give more.

The exchange rate is expected to drop as the Turkish Lira strengthens against the pound, as the markets realise Scunner is coming on holiday.

To be honest, I was in a hurry to get some money changed, as a friend had sent sterling to me to pay a bill on their behalf. I was going to Calis anyway, so it was more convenient than spending time searching around to get 0.0001 extra on the rate, for a relatively small sum   ;)
