Validity of passport
« on: June 29, 2017, 23:31:29 PM »
The present Mrs H's passport may not have 6 months left from the time we leave on our next visit.

However, her Visa would be valid on her current passport.

She will be renewing her passport:

Question is:  Will her Visa still be valid

Yes. She could take both passports with her just to avoid confusion though.

we had this situation a few years back. On renewing our passports we sent copies of the visa with the passports and had to take both old and new passports until that visa expired, though we were never asked to show the old passport...do you know you can carry up to 9 months of old passport over to the new one, we used the online service which at the time was quite new, brilliant service as you can track every stage of the new one...

I leave Turkey on 12/10/2017. Six months after this is 12/04/2018. My passport runs out on 02/04/2018, 10 days short of six months. Am I OK or not?

I had this last year and just bought a new visa to go with the new passport because I couldn't be ar5ed getting into a potential discussion with the passport polis for the sake of about 12 quid.

Just out of interest do you retain the same passport number.

Thanks for that KKOB. I said to the wife "well they're not gonna prevent me leaving" to which she replied "no but it's Turkey, they might fine you".
